What do you think he almost said?
Regardless of whether or not he said it, you know what he was thinking. And this is who every parish in Louisiana voted for, except Orleans, in the recent GOP primary elections.

Trayvon Martin: Audio from 102 JAMZ in Orlando
Here's some of the audio of the Trayvon Martin rally in Sanford, Florida taken from 102 JAMZ radio station in Orlando. Included in this audio sample are clips from the rally, activists and people calling into the show. One note is that Melony Torres calls for a Sanford boycott. Don't purchase anything or spend any money in Sanford, Florida.
I'd like to write more about this and have a lot to say. I haven't been able to mainly because of how much emotional energy and strength it takes to talk about this. I'm a bit ashamed of myself for not just digging in and writing a long, thoughtful post, but I just can't find it in me right now. Even thinking about it is difficult. I will say one thing, the white, conservative response to this is classic character assassination and it's despicable. To blame Trayvon for anything having to do with his killing is cowardly, pitiful and heartless. Further, where's the investigation of Zimmerman and how is he still free? This is disgusting.

Darwin and Justin Halpern
So people talk about Darwin's theory of evolution as the survival of the fittest, but from what I 've heard his theory is really about death of the slowest/oldest. Someone else (I think Herbert Spencer, a Darwin contemporary) is the one who came up with the survival of the fittest phrase. Anyway, to make a weird connection, I was on Justin Halpern's "Shit my Dad Says" website and I liked this shit that his dad said:
"You don't have to be good to succeed. You just gotta be the least shitty option. Example: We're eating at The Olive Garden."

Incarceration Map and Chart
These are originally from a Pew report on incarceration that was published in 2008 called 1 in 100 Behind Bars. I actually found these on someone's blog when I was searching comparisons in state spending for education and prison.
